This popular resort evolved from an isolated moor, inhabited only by
wild animals, into one the most chic of the northern seaside resort which
reached its peak in the 1920s.
Sea breezes and walks on the beach, seawater spa treatments and stylish
French cooking – there is no better place to blow away the cobwebs than
Le Touquet. Just 45 miles south of Calais, the resort was invented by the
British 100 years ago. With its pine forest and golf courses, neat villas
and winding roads, this seaside town still has echoes of the good old days.
